Dr Sambuddha Ghosh

Dr. Sambuddha Ghosh is a doctorate in Virology, with a wide experience in the areas of vaccine production, quality control as well as developmental and translational research. He has contributed in senior management positions of various multinational organizations and vaccine operations for more than 15 years, and has spearheaded many projects through the evolving global markets.
He has executed due diligence assessments regarding CMC and supply issues pertaining to vaccines & biopharmaceutical licensing transactions, including post-merger integration and restructuring of research, manufacturing and process development functions. At Venky’s, he also initiated and accomplished clinical trials of recombinant bio-therapeutic human biologics molecules. He also served a short tenure as the industrial representative on the Indo-American knowledge initiative on Animal Biotechnology and significantly contributed in introducing the concepts of modern intellectual property management in the background of changing economy, as well as gaining access to new technologies and develop methods for new products/technology process transfers.

Dr Girish Sohani
Principal Advisor and Trustee, BAIF
Mr. Girish has an extensive experience of over 40 years’ experience in Natural Resource Management and Rural livelihoods.
He holds a Bachelor of Technology degree in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Bombay alongwith a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Management from IIM, Ahmedabad.
He has been associated with BAIF Development Research foundation (a national level organization working on rural development and applied research with over 5 million families in 12 states of India), initially as President & Managing Trustee (2009 – 2021) and currently as Principal Advisor and Trustee (w.e.f 2021). He is now also a member of the Governing Boards of BAIF Development Research Foundation and its Associate organizations, and several other development organizations. Alongwith with this, he also been Independent Director, Maharashtra Knowledge Corporation Limited (MKCL). 2019 onwards.
Previously he was involved in Institutional Development of BAIF into a multi-sectoral development organization and as a Resource Institution. He also served as an expert on various Committees of State and Central Government, NABARD, National and International Agencies.
Mr. Girish has published / presented over 25 papers at National / International conferences and has received several awards for this work. Some of the awards received by him include “Distinguished Alumnus Award 2011” by the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay in recognition of outstanding contributions to Rural and Community Development, “Maha – Intrapreneur Award 2013” by Praj Industries Ltd. at the hands of Dr. Anil Kakodkar and “Commander in the Order of Agricultural Merit” by the Minister of Agriculture, Agrifood and Forestry, Government of France (2016).
Dr Premnath V
Director, Venture Center
Dr. Premnath is Head, NCL Innovations at CSIR-NCL, and Founder Director, Venture Center (National award-winning inventive enterprises and deep tech incubator). He is a technology developer, innovation and incubation manager, startup mentor and a co-founder of two medtech startups. One of his inventions — a breakthrough material for hip and knee joint replacements — has been implanted in more than a million patients worldwide. Another technology for porous maxillo-facial implants has been implanted in thousands of patients in India and abroad. He has provided leadership for teams that have won national awards for technology development/biomedical products development, intellectual property management and business incubation. He is chemical engineer and an alumnus of MIT in the US, IIT-Bombay (Distinguished Alumnus, 2022) and has been a Chevening Technology Enterprise Scholar in Cambridge, UK.
