Speaker:  Dr Niranjan Yeole, Scientist, Intellectual Property Group NCL Innovations, CSIR-NCL

 About the Speaker: Niranjan Yeole is a Scientist associated with Intellectual Property Group, the group within CSIR-National Chemical Laboratory (NCL) charged with the responsibility of implementation and managing an IP portfolio with championing the cause of technology innovation within NCL. Niranjan holds a Master’s and Ph.D. degree in Polymer Chemistry from North Maharashtra University (NMU), Jalgaon. He has also completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Patents Law from NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad, India. He was associated with PI Industries, Udaipur from Oct 2017 – Aug 2019 and Dolcera ITES, Hyderabad from June 2014 – Sept 2017. In PI Industries, Niranjan was responsible for ensuring the security of intellectual property (support in filing of patent applications, building portfolio, ensuring novelty and freedom-to-operate). Both these techno-legal jobs also include carrying knowledge management services like IP landscape study, patentability, freedom-to-operate, state of the art study, competitor intelligence along with appropriate documentation and distribution of results. Niranjan was associated with the University of Hyderabad as a Dr. D. S. Kothari Postdoctoral Fellow from Jan 2012 – June 2014. He holds and has contributed to 10 International research publications.

About the talk: Talk will cover a brief overview of key concepts in patent information, how to design effective strategies and methodology for retrieving and analyzing this information.
