Abstract of the talk: The talk will give a ring side view of the journey of a product technology (in manufacturing sector) from concept to commercialization using the case of a Gas Separation Membrane Technology.

Speaker biosketch: Sandeep Karode, Ph.D., Director, Applications & Analysis, GM&T Americas, Air Liquide (USA); PhD (IIT Bombay); Postdocs (France, Canada)

Sandeep Karode is currently Director, Applications & Analysis, GM&T Americas, Air Liquide (USA) which is a leading global company in production, separations, purifications and supply of industrial gases. Sandeep has been working with Air Liquide since 2001 on Gas Separation Membranes. He started his career with a stint in Thermax dealing with water treatment technologies. Sandeep is an alumnus of IIT-Bombay where he completed his B Tech and PhD in Chemical Engineering. He followed that up with postdocs in France (Ceramic membranes for Sugarcane Juice filtration) and Canada at the National Research Council in Ottawa (Modeling of spiral wound membrane spacers). Sandeep brings extensive and in-depth experience on various aspects of membrane based technologies.
