Online session on Ideating and Evaluating Commercializable R&D: Thinking Frameworks & Examples
Undertaking R&D projects with commercial potential involves a high degree of risk that is difficult to articulate and capture. This risk can be mitigated by understanding other competing technologies under development and by being cognizant of the direction of industry evolution. Being aware of these and other considerations such as supply chain and safety will increase the probability of successful commercialization of these technologies. This talk will discuss a formal framework developed by the speaker to capture the information necessary to make informed decisions during the early stages of ideating and developing commercializable R&D. These frameworks aim to elucidate inherent assumptions and highlight risk factors to all stakeholders in the development process to ensure successful development and commercialization of technologies.
